Being physically active is very important for individuals that are serious about optimizing their focus attention. This is attributed to the many physiological benefits that occur when the body is under physical stress whether through aerobic (cardio) or anaerobic (weight training). For example, neurotransmitters such as serotonin and norepinephrine are released by stimulating the sympathetic nervous system. These neurotransmitters are important for improving your mood and increasing communication throughout your brain. Exercise can also reduce stress and help you relax, which would allow you have a clearer mind and keep you more patient when trying to complete any task. Now, what type of exercise is necessary and how often should one perform them?
Whether you are using free weights, machines, or even calisthenics, these physical acts are excellent at keeping your attention and focus at their peaks. A few days per week are needed for about half an hour to 45 minutes. Alternatively, cardiovascular exercise such as walking, jogging and running are excellent as well. Similarly, two to four days per week will suffice or even more if you are comfortable. If you are a novice when it comes to physical activity, it can be a bit overwhelming, but if you try it for a few weeks rest assure you will notice an improvement and it will keep you motivated to continue.
